Launch Event
Saturday 9th August 2025 at 2.00pm
Ballyteague GAA Hall W91VEW8
You are warmly invited to the launch of Tóch I Dig Phase II which will take place in Ballyteague GAA Hall (W91 VEW8) on Saturday, 9th August at 2.30pm. The launch of Phase II will take the format of an informal feedback session on Phase I and an exploratory workshop on the future direction of the project. Tóch I Dig is at its heart rooted in the peatland communities of north Kildare and we would like to create a space where people can voice their opinions, suggestions and concerns on the future direction of the project. It is an opportunity for the community to help decide on the activities that will take place during Phase II. The session is aimed at members of the local community as well as people from wider society with an interest in our peatlands. We hope to introduce previous participants from Phase I to potential collaborators in the project’s subsequent phases and provide both with a space to share stories, anecdotes, knowledge and ideas on what our boglands could be. Feel free to bring others who may be interested! New voices are very welcome. Please note there is no expectation of any commitment to the project by attending the event. Refreshments will be served. On the 31st August and 28th September, bus tours to sites of interest in the Bog of Allen will be organised to further encourage an intergenerational and interdisciplinary mingling of ideas. Details of these tours will be confirmed at a later date.
